About Chris

Chris Barnette is one of the original founders of Rising Tide Homes and is a SC licensed builder and REALTOR®. He currently serves as President and Broker-in-Charge of affiliate company Southern Shores Real Estate Group and is overseeing the business and project development for Rising Tide Homes with fellow builder and partner, Cheryl F.C. Ludlam.

Chris is a graduate of The Citadel with 10+ years experience in the real estate industry. Chris founded Southern Shores Real Estate Group in 2006 and has since built a thriving company and personal real estate business representing sellers, buyers, and investors in both the residential and commercial sectors. Chris is exceptionally well respected in Charleston not only due to his professional track record but most importantly, his commitment to the highest ethical standards for both himself and his company.

In 2015, Chris followed a long-standing dream and advanced his real estate expertise even further, earning his S.C. Residential Builder’s License. Under his leadership, Southern Shores and affiliate companies have built and renovated numerous homes throughout the Lowcountry region of South Carolina.

For Chris, the process of building a home from the ground up and seeing the vision come to life is remarkable. Helping to shape the future growth of the Charleston area is another extremely rewarding part of this exciting field. But perhaps the most impactful is the opportunity to work with buyers who thought they could never own a home. To see a client's excitement as their home comes to completion is priceless.

Rising Tide Homes is without a doubt a passion project for Chris. While he admits that building a home is not an easy journey, he takes care down to the smallest details from the process, to the materials, to the end-product. Completing each home with the integrity a client deserves is the driving force behind every nail.

Chris currently resides in the James Island area of Charleston with his wife, Meredith, and their four children.
