About Cheryl

 

Cheryl F.C. Ludlam is one of the original founders of Rising Tide Homes and is a SC licensed builder and realtor. She currently serves as CEO and Managing Partner of affiliate company Southern Shores Real Estate Group and is overseeing the business and project development for Rising Tide Homes with fellow builder and partner, Chris Barnette. She is a leader in managing growth and startup companies with over 25 years experience leading successful ventures in a variety of technical and growth industries, including the biotech industry, management consulting and most predominantly the real estate, construction and property management industries. Ludlam believes in integrity and humility as the basis for true success and prosperity for herself and others. Her business philosophy revolves around the belief that business must fundamentally be driven by a strong set of core values that permeates through day-to-day operations and decisions.

 

Under Ludlam's leadership, Southern Shores and affiliate companies have built numerous homes throughout the Lowcountry region of South Carolina. She has also created a number of jobs and careers as part of the expansion strategy of the synergistic businesses she has helped develop. These businesses include new home construction, renovation, commercial and residential real estate brokerage, property management, vacation rentals management, and cleaning and custodial services. She couples her expertise in business and marketing with construction and project management, including oversight of projects, several sales and satellite offices and staff with offices in Charleston, Summerville and Florence, SC.

 

Ludlam grew up in Goose Creek, SC. She holds an MBA with High Honors from Boston University where she graduated summa cum laude with undergraduate degrees in Physics and Mathematics. She was also among 15 Americans selected to attend Oxford University in the Modern British Studies programs and is skilled in working with multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams.

 

In 2005 she was appointed by the Governor of South Carolina to represent the 1st Congressional District on the SC Human Affairs Commission with a mission to prevent and eliminate illegal discrimination throughout the state. She is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including most notably the SC House of Representatives Woman of Achievement Award and the Knights of Columbus Family of the Year Award. She and her husband have been married for 25 years, and together they have four children.
